The TM7 Is Coming. What Does This Mean For You?

The new TM7 Thermomix

Thermomix has just announced the launch of their brand new model: The TM7.

After the success of the TM6 release in 2019, the TM7 promises to deliver a cooking experience like never before.

This is exciting news for customers around Australia and the world. What does this mean for you?

History

Thermomix has been around for a long time. It has gone through changes and rebranding but at the core, it has always been about finding smarter ways to cook food.

Here is a summary of the evolution of Thermomix over the years:

  1. Thermomix VKM5 (1961)
  2. Thermomix VM 10 (1960s)
  3. Thermomix VM 2000 (1971)
  4. Thermomix VM 2200 (1977)
  5. Thermomix TM 3000 (1980)
  6. Thermomix TM 3300 (1982)
  7. Thermomix TM 21 (1996)
  8. Thermomix TM 31 (2004)
  9. Thermomix TM 5 (2014)
  10. Thermomix TM 6 (2019)
  11. Thermomix TM 7 (2025)

Thermomix is primarily manufactured in France (75%) with the rest in Germany.

Better Than Ever Before

The TM7 promises to be better than ever before.

Thermomix describes the new machine as:

Designed like never before,

Accessible like never before,

Groundbreaking like never before,

Intuitive like never before,

Immersive like never before,

Inspiring like never before,

Phygital like never before,

Genius like never before,

Silent like never before,

Powerful like never before,

Spacious like never before.

What It Includes

The purchase of a TM7 includes:

  • TM7 base
  • Mixing bowl
  • Lid
  • Lid cover
  • Varoma
  • Insulation cover
  • Simmering basket
  • Mixing knife
  • Butterfly whisk
  • Spatula
  • 3-month Cookidoo trial
  • 100,000 guided recipes

What Are The Benefits To Upgrading?

Some of the benefits of upgrading to the TM7 are as follows:

  • Quieter than previous models (silent motor, handy for nap time, bedtime and a calmer kitchen)
  • Insulated mixing bowl (that is cool to touch)
  • Compact base (takes up less space)
  • Modern black design (sleek)
  • Larger touch screen display, now 10 inch (better for those with vision issues)
  • Improved temperature control
  • More seamless (in how it connects to Cookidoo and your phone)
  • User interface enhancements
  • More intuitive (automatic modes)
  • More powerful
  • More spacious (45% increased steaming space)
  • Multilevel cooking for entire meals (with the redesigned Varoma)
  • New open cooking mode (more than 20 cooking modes altogether)

What Are The Possible Downsides?

Here are some possible downsides to the new Thermomix:

  • No white option (not a big deal, but it might not suit the aesthetics or match other appliances)
  • No option to get a second mixing bowl and steaming basket (yet)
  • No hardcopy of ‘The Basic Cookbook’ (that I know of)
  • Need to pay upfront for pre-sale

What Will Stay The Same?

There are some things that will stay the same when you upgrade from a TM6 to a TM7:

  • Free shipping
  • Help from your consultant (with demonstrations, sharing recipe ideas and handy hints, answering questions, solving issues or referring you to Thermomix if needed)
  • 3 months of Cookidoo included in the purchase (same as the TM6 but personally, I think this should be longer or included forever when you buy new)

Will We Upgrade?

I won’t be rushing out to get a TM7, as tempting as it is. We have a lot of other things on our list to purchase (repairing one car, replacing the other, rainwater tanks and an outdoor setting for our alfresco area).

I can’t justify buying a new one when our current TM6 works perfectly. We love having two bowls. We have everything we need to make delicious food.

A TM7 will be an exciting upgrade, perhaps down the track when I’m working more.

I want to normalise keeping things that we love and that still work well before replacing them with new and shiny versions. We live in a wasteful society. We cannot keep consuming at the extent that we are without consequences for the planet.

I can be excited about this new model and help to share the word without needing to go out and buy it immediately for myself.

Do You Need One?

This will be different for everyone.

I have written a lot about how we thought about buying a Thermomix for a long time before going ahead with the purchase. The cost was a barrier and I didn’t know if we really needed one.

I’ve realised that although we didn’t need one, it has enhanced our life so much.

No one really needs a dishwasher or robo vacuum. They can, however, make our lives easier.

When we consider how much time we spend cooking or the cost of takeaway or meal kits, it can really add up. Having a multifunction appliance can save us both time and money. It can free us up to spend more time out of the kitchen doing what we love or earning money to reduce stress over money.

I remember giving my husband the green light to purchase some tools for the shed. It was an initial investment but saved us money on tradies. I knew that if he had the tools, he could tackle more jobs around the house.

The same could be said for inside the home. When we have some all-in-one appliances like a Thermomix, it can make a big difference for the person who does the bulk of the cooking.

Perhaps you don’t yet have a Thermomix and don’t need the fancy new release. You’d be stoked with the TM6. Now is a handy time to buy as they try to move older stock out the door to make way for the TM7. You can get gifts worth up to $1000 on the Bonus Bundle at the time of writing.

Perhaps for you, you’ve been on the fence for a while. I know I was (for a long time!) This might be the perfect time to buy. You’ll have a shiny new machine with all the bells and whistles. You’re so glad you waited because now you can buy the brand-new release.

Perhaps you’ve had an older model for a long time. It’s been good but it’s looking tired or needs repairs. An upgrade might be worth considering. It can be something you can save up for.

Perhaps you just love your Thermomix. You use it all the time and couldn’t imagine your life without it. Maybe you want to try the TM7 because you know you’ll get your money’s worth. You could keep the old one (I hear it’s handy having 2), sell it or even gift it to someone who would love it too.

When Can I Buy It?

Pre-sales will be available in April. The TM7 will arrive in Australia during the second half of the year.

Stay tuned for further details or register your interest here.

Be aware that delivery is dependent on stock availability. Orders will be prioritised by the order of date purchased. If you want to get it as early as possible, I’d suggest ordering as soon as you can.

Cost

The cost of the TM7 will be $2,649.

For comparison purposes, the TM6 costs $2579 at the time of writing.

How To Afford It

There are a number of ways to afford a Thermomix. It’s worth looking into your options.

1. Pre-sale

For the pre-sale of the TM7, a full upfront payment is required.

2. Earn It

If you have friends or family who are interested in buying, you could look into becoming a Consultant. This isn’t for everyone, but it can help reduce the barriers to affording the purchase cost.

I hear there are some pretty sweet perks to joining, with free products, earning incentives, travel opportunities, training and a community of like-minded people.

Alternatively, reach out through this link and my consultant contact can answer your questions.

3. Save Up

You could put aside some money to save up for one. Consider setting up a sinking fund (a bank account that you automatically deposit money into each pay).

$2649 equates to around $50 a week or $100 a fortnight. This would be out of reach for many Australians right now but with interest rates going down, it could be an option for some.

You might like the idea of starting a side hustle to earn the cash. Alternatively, most of us have unused items in our homes. It can feel like a lot of effort to list items but it might be worth your while.

Imagine having more space in your home and a TM7 on your bench. Let that motivate you!

I list some tips for selling on Marketplace here.

4. Secondhand

You won’t find this on the website but another option is Facebook Marketplace. This could be a more affordable option. Some people might want to upgrade to the TM7 you could get a fabulous one for less).

Please note that buying second-hand does come with risk. You won’t get a warranty and won’t know the exact condition of your Thermomix. It might have been used roughly or need repairs. I simply list it as an option as it’s a cheaper way of bringing a Thermomix into your home.

5. Referral Link

Keen to make a purchase? I now have a referral link. I am not directly affiliated with Thermomix (though do get the occasional freebie to review). Anyone can apply for a link (even you!). It simply means that I receive a voucher for the Mix Shop in return for spreading the word.

You can still add the name of a consultant to support them without it costing you any extra. This commission helps them to support their families. Having a consultant walk alongside you on your Thermomix journey is so helpful.

Why I Love Our Thermomix?

It’s no secret that I love our Thermomix. If you are still figuring out if one is right for you, here are some reasons why I love ours:

  • It can reduce the mental load (deciding what to cook)
  • It can reduce the grocery shopping load (by using the shopping list feature with Cookidoo)
  • It makes cooking easier (especially the scale function)
  • It reduces how much pre-packaged food you buy (saving pantry space)
  • It cooks in the background (so you can watch your children in the bath)
  • It helps you cook from scratch (saving you money)
  • It cleans itself (so you can focus on the other dishes)
  • It helps reduce clutter in the kitchen (you don’t need so many appliances)
  • It makes food taste delicious (even if you’re not a great cook)

Please note: this is not a sponsored review. I have not been asked to write this. I am occasionally gifted items to do a sponsored review (such as the Ovana Pizza Oven and Vac U Seal). These are clearly listed as such. Most of my articles are written because I love our Thermomix and want to spread the love. If this changes and I become affiliated, I will let you know.
